Celebrate In Style

Standard

Yesterday, just before dinner, I was sitting in my living room browsing through an old House & Home magazine, when a small hand drawn sketch caught my eye.  I was struck by the vivid blocks of colour used by the artist and knew immediately I had to adopt this idea for a card.  I love it when inspiration hits me over the head!

I used the exact same colours and block layout as in the sketch and then added the stamped image of the polka dot woman as the focal image.  She is one of the lovely ladies from the CTMH Fashionista stamp set.

I knew I wanted a black ribbon as a contrast to the bright colours and I just happened to have this fun black and white polka dot ribbon (thanks Kim!).  I love how it matches the polka dots on the lady’s outfit!  The sentiment is from a Gina K stamp set I bought a while ago and have used on a number of occasions but I really felt it was perfect for this card.

There’s really not much more to tell so it’s a short one today.  I hope inspiration finds you this easily.  Happy crafting!

About papercraftnut

I am a working mom of two great kids and married to a wonderful man who is very supportive of my paper crafting addiction! I discovered paper crafts while organizing birthday parties for my kids. It was so fun to make the invitations, decorations and loot bags. The fun hasn't stopped and now I LOVE anything paper!

  1. Stunning card Tracy. The p. ribbon really makes it pop. Isn’t it great when you spot something around and about and it just sets off ideas.
