My Time Made Easy April Sneak Peek

Standard

Hello peeps!  Only 2 days until April.  Doesn’t that sound fabulous?  Speaking of fabulous, check out this new Sole Mates running shoe template from My Time Made Easy‘s April Release…Sole Mate Sk8tr Boy

Is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?  I’m blown away by it, and let me tell you, it is even cuter in real life!  The running shoe was made with the new Sole Mates cut file, Sole Mates digital stamp set and Go Shopping digital paper pack.

Sole MatesThe finished shoe measures 2 3/4 inches wide x 3 1/3 inches tall x 8 1/2 inches long.  As you can see by the photo, I was able to stuff a fairly large bag of jelly beans inside.  I decorated this shoe for a boy, but this could be just as cool for a girl if you change the colours.  Fill this up with the birthday girl or boy’s most loved candy and add an awesomely cool gift card from their favourite store for a jaw dropping birthday gift!Sk8tr Boy Birthday CardI finished off this gift with a birthday card using the MTME Sk8tr Boy Digital Stamp Set.

Please take a few minutes to check out some of the other great things My Time Made Easy has to offer by clicking on the links below.  And for more amazing ideas be sure to visit the design team’s inspiration gallery.  You won’t be disappointed!  Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Birthday OOAH!

Standard

Hello everyone!  The Out of a Hat Creations Challenge Blog is celebrating it’s first birthday this week.  Happy Birthday and congratulations ladies!  The challenge is to print and cut out a hexagon they’ve supplied, then stick a toothpick in the middle and give it a spin.  Each side has a theme written on it and whatever you land on is what you base your project on.  Well I was on a roll, so to speak, and ended up making 3 cards.Needle and ThreadMy first card showcases the theme ‘needle and thread’.  I hauled out the old sewing machine and stitched the layers into place.  I thought the sentiment was a great way to celebrate a birthday and the colours are so festive – perfect!  Each word was masked and stamped in a coordinating colour.School DaysMy second card has the theme ‘school days’.  This one looks a bit vintagey as well, because of the background paper and the colours.

Vintage Sunshiny DayAnd last but not least, is this vintage card.  I thought it was appropriate to add a bit of sunshine to this birthday post.  I think we are all anxiously awaiting those lazy summer days!

If you want to check out the other themes hop on over to the OOAH Creations Challenge Blog and take a peek at what they’re up to.  Hope you’re having a great day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Bonnets

Standard

Hello folks!  It feels like ages since I’ve posted anything.  But not to worry – I have two cards I made for the Out of a Hat Challenge this week.  They are asking for Easter bonnets and after searching the internet for ideas, I decided to opt for a couple of vintage Easter pictures with bonnets in them.

Easter ChicksThese little Easter chicks are so adorable and a sure sign of spring.  I wish we were seeing spring here.  We’ve had nothing but snow, snow, snow!

Another Easter ChickMy second card showcases a different sort of Easter chick!  She’s just hatched too but hasn’t quite come out of her shell yet ;0)  The strip of patterned paper down the right side was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and then inked with Desert Sand ink.  The focal image was framed using kraft card stock, cut on the Cricut, and then mounted onto a piece of aqua blue card stock.  Lastly, the paper flowers were glued down the left side and adorned with pearls.

That’s it from me today.  I will just make it under the wire for the challenge so I must be off to add my post!  Have a lovely week and happy crafting!

4 My Friend

Standard

Hello everyone!  It’s March madness around here this week with the kids being off school.  What to do to keep them busy (and give me a bit of crafting time!).  Today we invited some friends over and baked chocolate chip cookies so they have full tummies and are playing together nicely.  Time for a quick post.

My first of two cards is for the Out of a Hat Challenge this week.  The theme is friendship.  We all need them and I feel so blessed to have such great ones – crafty blog friends included!  Here’s to you…

4 My FriendI just received a new CTMH stamp set entitled Country-Born.  The sunflowers in the milk can came from that set and I coloured it in with alcohol ink markers.  I then cut it out and popped it up on a background cut from Buzz and Bumble paper.  4 My FriendThe side of the card is stamped with hexagons in Bamboo ink from the Honeycomb stamp set.  I ran a paper border down the edge of the hexagons and added a faux stitch with a brown maker.  No honeycomb is complete without a bumblebee, so I added my favourite bee stamp from the Jardin stamp set.  To finish it off I added the sentiment flag in the bottom corner.

My second card is for last week’s Heart2Heart challenge.  The theme was spring so I thought rays of sunshine for this one.Sun is ShiningI used the burlap pennant from Patterned Pennants for the sun’s rays.  The sun and air balloons were cut out with the Artiste cartridge and stamped with images from the April stamp of the month – My Sunshine.  I stamped the large air balloon in several different colours cut out the strips and popped them up for dimension.

Rays of SunshineHope you’re having a great week.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  See you back here again real soon and until then happy crafting!

A View of Things to Come

Standard

I’m looking out the window at all the snow and willing it to melt!  Come on spring.  Oh, how I’ve missed you!  But seriously, in honour of spring I thought I’d share these two flower pictures I made for the Out of a Hat Challenge this week.  These will also look splendid in my bathroom.  I did a little remodel last weekend – new flooring and paint – to brighten things up a bit, and now need something for the walls.  First up is this sunflower.IMG_5687I started off with a burlap background stamp from the Close To My Heart Distressed Backgrounds stamp set.  You will be able to see it a bit better in the closeup.  The sunflower was stamped onto a piece of cardstock and then coloured with Copic markers.   I cut out the flower and glued it to the background.  I debated whether or not to put an inspirational saying, but sometimes it’s just nice to look at a pretty image.  ‘Nuff said! IMG_5690My next picture starts off with the same background stamp but showcases a different flower.  These roses are from the CTMH Love Blooms stamp set.IMG_5696I stamped the floral images onto some older CTMH B&T paper, cut them out and pasted them onto the background.IMG_5692Thankfully, I had these black frames, complete with white matting, in storage.  They are now housing some new art!  My pictures are pretty straight forward – nothing complicated here – but they are sure to add a bit of sunshine to my bathroom reno.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

My Time Made Easy March Year In Review

Standard

As we wrap up with our March Release we move onto creating new samples, with older products. This is always a favourite time because you can never get too many ideas for gifts, especially using products you may already have, or passed by before because you weren’t “looking” for it to suit X purpose.  The very first template I ever bought from MTME was a teacup template called Grab A Cup.  Of course, I bought it because I loved the teacup, but since then I’ve used this template for a witches cauldron, an Easter basket and now a pot of gold in honour of St Patrick’s Day.Pot of Gold1The rainbow is from the Lunch Box Love Notes Digital Stamp Set.  I blew it up using photo editing software, printed it out and coloured it with my Copic markers.  The striped paper is from the Candy Claus digital paper set and the label is from Sentimental Occasions.   So grab your beverage of choice, sit back and take a few minutes to visit the following team members to see what NEW stuff they’ve created.  You can also check out our MTME Gallery for a whole lot more products and inspiration.   Have a lovely, crafty day!! ~Tracy

My Time Made Easy March Project Inspiration

Standard

Hi folks!  I’m back with a couple of new projects I made with some of My Time Made Easy‘s new products.  I’ve always had a special place in my heart for 3D paper crafts so this was a lot of fun to make.  Here I’m showcasing the new Egg-stra Special Template, which is fabulous for Easter.Eggstra SpecialIsn’t he cute?  It was so fun putting him together and my daughter hasn’t stopped playing with it since I made it!  As you can see, you can create your own Easter or bird’s egg.  You can design this to look like a bunny, a chickie (like mine), a bird, owl, or anything that has a oval body! A little creativity will go a LONG way.  The bottom could be used on its own to create a “basket”, or the top could be used to create a bee hive!Eggstra SpecialThis template can hold gifts for Easter, a new baby or mom to be, a plush toy, stuffed animal, candy, homemade treats of any kind, jars of jam, egg decorating kit/items, games, soup or dip mixes, baking items…to name a few.  Whatever you decide to enclose in this fun template is sure to feel Egg-stra Special!

This next project uses the Bag-sket Template, Spring Has Sprung digital paper pack, Egg Decorating digital stamp and the Some Punny Easter digital stamp set.Bagsket & Egg Decorating CardThe beauty of these products is you don’t need a lot of expensive software or a personal cutting machine to make them.  I usually use a Cricut to cut out my stuff, but there are times when I just print out the pdf file and cut it by hand.  The above picture also shows the images coloured by yours truly.  Colouring, using digital photo editing software, is sometimes fun and convenient, but I LOVE to colour and often do it myself.

Whether you want a “bag”, or a card, this sweet little “bag-sket” is a great two for the price of one, cut file. Now you can have a super cute basket shaped card, OR a fun little treat bag, designed to look like a basket. Perfect for Easter, Spring, Mother’s Day, or whenever!
